BJD were appointed by Collins to help deliver the transformation of 265 Strand into 77,000 sq. ft of contemporary educational space for a leading international university. The building renovation included extensive structural interventions, a façade restoration, and a complete strip out and high spec education fit out. Inside, light-filled spaces, a new signature staircase, and enhanced circulation create an inspiring environment for students and staff, while upgrades to the roof, plant, lifts, and windows future-proof the building’s performance in this historic Westminster setting.

The seven floor fit out, includes lecture theatres, flexible classrooms, lounge and study areas, end of trip facilities, and faculty offices and meeting rooms. Extensive structural works were required to incorporate a new feature staircase, and open the lower ground levels for the large lecture theatres. Externally a new Mansard roof, window replacement, new roof terrace and  façade repairs refresh the building while maintaining its original character as part of the Strand.
